My pack arrived this week & wow what a package - Thank you so much! I have already handed some out at work & to family. The oldest person trialing is nearly 70 y.o & the youngest is 3 y.o - I will have to keep everyone informed of the results. I have sensitive skin & can not have any fragrance in my moisturisers - so am very happy that Aveeno is fragrance free. More soon....

Tony Abbott call women ironing housewives!

What do you think of Liberal leader Tony Abbott's comments that all women are housewives who still do the ironing? He also has no idea how to iron his own shirt either!

I don't know about you but I am astounded at how 1950's his views of women and the world are. It really frustrates me that this man is supposed to be a leader and he has such an un-modern view of things.

What about you?

It does sound bitter and angry. But then we really don't know the circumstances. Maybe the father was previously trying to "oust" the mother out of the child's life.
For the Family Court to even get involved there must have been one almighty battle in the FC already. Let's face it, not all parents "play fair".

When my ex and I split, our youngest was 9 and after starting to go out with a new girlfriend he started running me down to her, in front of our son. He seemed to have this great idea that they would make a "happy family" and the only person standing in their way was me!
He began pushing his new girlfriend onto our son, insisting she look after him, telling him she was angry with him when he didn't do what he wanted and telling him she was going to be his new stepmother. This was a whole six weeks after they started going out and only a week or two after she met our son. (I'm actually not sure that his girlfriend actually knew any of this was going on)

Our son got very distressed. He was waking up at night crying and started refusing to go around to his father's house. In the end we went to a Family Relationship Centre for mediation (FRC's are the first step LONG before any FC involvement these days). They did a Child Consultation as part of the process. In the end my ex realised that he was not going to gain anything playing these type of games and he backed right off. Once he stopped pushing our son settled down again.

Should women age naturally?

Nelly Furtado has blasted Madonna over her reluctance to age naturally.
The 30-year-old singer insists she won’t try to make herself appear younger in order to boost her career and would rather enjoy tea and biscuits than undertake a gruelling exercise regime.

She said: “I am not ready to adjust physically, just to be marketable. My sell-by date will run out eventually. Unlike Madonna, I wouldn’t be willing to do Pilates round the clock, just to slow down the deterioration of my body. I prefer to sit in the kitchen, drink tea and eat biscuits.”

What do you think? Should women age naturally or is it okay to get a little help?

Don't you hate those cheesy & corny 'flirts' or one-liners they have on dating sites? Must be a man who thinks them up!

What do you think of those awful flirts and "conversation starters" they have on dating sites? I mean, who thinks an animated bunch of flowers in cyberspace is a great idea? And animations of breaking hearts, weird faces blowing raspberries and dogs sniffing bottoms? Kind of weird and lacking in 'class' don't you think?
And when it comes to initiating contact? What's wrong with a simple "hello" (NO animation please!) or a "Your profile is great. Could we chat for a while"? (not that great, but better than "you are my dream match")
And knock backs, what about a simple "Thank you, I am flattered, but I don't think we would be compatible. Good luck with your search"?
A recent knock back that I wasn't his type, made me think about replies. It would have been nice to have followed up with a "That's okay. Good luck in the future anyway" or something similar. (I know, I just love the last word!)
Of course, an option such as "I re-looked at your profile and you're right, you are far too short [bald, ugly, etc] for me" would have been brilliant as well. (Just kidding!!)

Anyway as it was a dating site that brought me here in the first place, I wondered about some suggestions for some much better "flirts" and one-liners.
Be as creative and daring as you like. I am sure we could do much better! (And a really good laugh is SO good for us!)

Joel Madden says why he called his son Sparrow!

Joel Madden chose to call his son Sparrow because he wanted to make life hard for him!
“It reminded me of the Johnny Cash song ‘A Boy Named Sue’. My worry raising a son in Hollywood is, what will he have to struggle for? I wanted to give him a name that he’s going to have to stand up for. I love it, I think it’s a beautiful name.”
The Victorian boy was taken to hospital by ambulance with a blood alcohol content of .09 after she gave him four or five shots of home brew.
She told police she "just wanted to have a drink with her son because he likes his alcohol".

Smart men less likely to cheat

Well...der...If they are smart they wont cheat...But a recent study by Dr Satoshi Kanazawa, a researcher at the London School of Economics and Political Sciences has stated that if you can nab an intellectual guy, a smart guy...(I think the title nerd was even mentioned somewhere in there) They will be less likely to cheat...Apparently, with the evolution of man, they become more intelligent and less selfish and therefor less likely to cheat...
Sounds ok...but is it truly evolution that has done that, or is it that the "nerds" are less likely to cheat because of socially being more awkward, insecure and more greatful about finding a companion? I guess it depends on whom they have done studies on.
I have a "nerd" guy, whom is very sociably confident, extremely intellectual...but also extremely selfish...but too lazy and caught up in his "man games ie dungeons and dragons, magic and warhammer 40k" to be interested in cheating.

What do you think of Haley Bracken's dress?

What do you think of Haley Bracken's dress at the Allan Border Medal last night? She turned up with her cricketing partner Nathan and definitely got the attention she was after in this revealing, boob-popping number.

She said she designed the daring frock herself, and hoped to wear it when she competes in the Mrs World Australia and Mrs Globe Australia competitions later in the year

What do you think? Is it a trashy grab for publicity or a tasteful display of great style?

To scent or not scent - that is the question?

As one of the Shesaid Beauty Bloggers I am keen to find out what others think of the "fragrance free" moisturisers. I am usually mad about beauty creams that feel and SMELL gorgeous. I am not one that usually buys anything that has "fragrance free" on it. Previously I would have always asked why wouldn't you want a cream to smells delicious as well as be good for you?

I love those creams with citrus, lavender, or peppermint in them but my ultimate favourite is coconut! I buy anything with a coconut scent to it!

Call me crazy, but the Aveeno "fragrance free" moisturisers have a certain appeal as it does mean you can "cream up" then apply your perfume and it let's your perfume scent combine with your own scent to give you a unique smell. I do have to say I like it but will always have a soft spot for a cream that does smell yummy as well as feels yummy.

So it's up to you chicks - to scent or not scent - that is the question?
"I had a boyfriend who told me I'd never succeed, never be nominated for a Grammy, never have a hit song, and that he hoped I'd fail. I said to him, 'Someday, when we're not together, you won't be able to order a cup of coffee at the f***ing deli without hearing or seeing me.'"

Aveeno has set up shop in my lounge room ...

The coolest thing happened last week, I was chosen to be one of the Aveeno beauty bloggers! Go team!

Today my shiney parcel arrived looked very chic and ready to solve my skin problems! After reading through one of the pamphlets, I'm excited to try the new natural product. They use OATS of all things and it's amazing the benefits they have, who knew!

I have used Aveeno shower gel before and it helped an itchy skin issue I had (sorry TMI) so I have high hopes!

On first use it smells good without having an overpowering scent and goes on easily but feels a little thick on my legs. But this feeling only last about 5 minutes so that shouldn't be a problem.

Like many Aussie girls, I'm a bit obsessive about moisturising after long days in the heat/wind/sun etc!

My plan of attack is to use it in place of my normal moisturising routine and post about my thoughts! I'm also going to hand out a few of the sample size bottles to some girls at work who ... how do i put this delicately ... are at various levels of maturity to scope their thoughts too!

1000 Teddies...please help out!!!

I am posting this story on behalf of Tammy. Please help out if you can, and if you can't please spread the word. I cannot imagine the pain that parents feel, and can only help by spreading the word, donating and learning to appreciate my own family more.
This is NOT a personal gain this is to help raise awareness and collect Teddy Bears for those that have to leave hosptial after giving birth to a "Sleeping Baby"

On April 2nd 2005 our daughter, Anna Cassie Scott Malcolm, was born sleeping. The pain of delivering a sleeping baby cannot be described to anyone who hasn't been through such an experience. Having to leave the hospital without my baby in my arms was the hardest thing I have ever done. What made it ever so slightly easier was the teddy bear that I received to hold in her place, and the ongoing support I have received through the Teddy Love Club.

Anna would be graduating from kindergarten and starting school in April this year. To celebrate the enormous impact her short life has had on us, and all of our family, we are holding a Teddy Bear Drive throughout the month of March. Our aim is to collect one thousand teddy bears that we can donate to other couples who have the dreadful experience of leaving the hospital with empty arms. Anna's birthday is on April 2, and our aim is to reach this goal by her birthday.

If you are able to donate a teddy bear please contact me on
0466-635-690.

Many Thanks,

Tammy

Aveeno = Skin Glow!

Well it has been 6 days of use of Aveeno - both day cream with SPF and body Moisturising Lotion one sure way to please me is have people comment on my skin!"Radiant" "Glowing" - gotta love that! My skin falls into the sensitive category and et voila not only does it feel lovely to use it works so well on my skin.

Flying at least a few times a week usually dehydrates my skin and the Aveeno body moisturiser has changed all that...instantly hydrating and protecting my skin with results that have my skin looking better and feeling great.

I will reach the end of the first week of Aveeno use over the weekend so stay tuned for more updates....

How to have Positively Radiant skin

I get alot of comments about my skin so I thought I would share my tips to positively radiant skin:

For Faces

1 - Choose an appropriate cleanser i.e. if you want to reduce pores, wash with a pore reducing cleanser. if you get recurring breakouts, use an acne prone cleanser.

2- tone tone tone. this is an important step to sooth and "close" your pores after opening them with a cleanser. I used to buy whatever toner matched the cleanser I was buying but I received a tip a few years ago to just use Witch Hazel and I have never looked back. It does great things for your pores, is soothing without irritating and will go with any other products you use.

3 - Apply a serum. Another tip I recieved and have never looked back from is using a face serum prior to moisturing. L'oreal and Biore have good ones and you can use morning or night (or both). I find it ads an extra softness to my skin and has helped improve my skin tone.

4 - Moisturise!!! This is the most improtant step to give your face back its moisture. Use appropriate moisturiser for the time of day i.e. one with an SPF or foundation tint in the mornings and a night time intensive cream at night. I am currently obsessing over Aveeeno's "Positively Radiant" face moisturiser in the morning and Palmers "Facial Moisturiser Cream with Vitamen E" for night time.

No matter what time your going to bed or how you feel, it is really important to do this morning and night.

Sandra Bullock can't have kids

Sandra Bullock, now 45 has given up on IVF due to a family disturbance, and that bringing a child into the family at this point wouldn't be fair.
Sandra Bullock used to say she was too selfish to ever be a mum, but after meeting her now husband Jesse James at 39, and being step mum to his 3 children, she has now found a place in her heart for one of her own.
She begun IVF, and fertility drugs and suffered privately as this did not work. She then publicised her struggle when a reporter asked wether she was going to have any children to Jesse. Her response was, "What if I couldn't have children, do you know how much that hurts?"
But most recently, she has told her story to a magazine, stating that family issues mean it is no longer the right time. Family issues is most probably relating to Jesse James' second wife fighting for full custody of his child with her (she was a porn star, her name escapes me). I say good luck to Sandra, and I wish her all the best.

Should Bindi Irwin spruik cakes?

Bindi Irwin is under attack for selling cakes. Health food expert, Rosemary Stanton, reckons commercials with Bindi licking the spoon after baking cake with mum sends a bad message to children.

“The message that comes across to kids is “it’s OK to eat cake because Bindi Irwin does” - I think it’s very sad,” Stanton said.

“Children are very trusting, so they actually think Bindi wouldn’t do it if it wasn’t right.”

“I think it’s a bit of exploitation of her as well because she wouldn’t possibly be old enough to understand the impact that this could have.”

“It’s wrong to target kids in trying to sell stuff to other kids. It makes it very difficult for parents to then resist the pleas of their children.”

Wow! So now you can't even lick the spoon after you bake a cake with your mum? What next? Should we just outlaw fun altogether? Actually how about we ban childhood, that would makes things easier for everyone!

I had to laugh when I read this recently! "Hugh Grant says he can’t get a girlfriend because of his golf obsession."

The Hollywood bachelor even gets up in the middle of the night to practice his swing. When you say to a girl ‘I play golf’ her eyes glaze over," he says. "I do feel guilty about my golf. You know you’re a sad case when you spend your spare time reading books on putting or going on YouTube to watch slow motion golf swings. I’ll get out of bed in the middle of the night and practice my swing in front of the mirror. I’m obsessed and it’s destroying my life. Golf is an addiction.”

“I’ve decided the most addictive element is the physical sensation when in a rare moment you hit the ball flush in the middle of the club. The only thing that comes close is when I was taught to play the piano – the vibration when you hit a beautiful chord.”

Bah ha ha ha ha. I am not surprised at all! My fiance is obsessed with golf. Actually, with all things sport! He watches it constantly. Does anyone else feel my pain?

Should we have National Work From Home Day?

Sydney couple, Nigel and Jo Hobbs are pushing for a National Work from Home Day later this year.

Based on the hugely successful model from the UK, organisations and employees both public and private, are invited to take part in the program to demonstrate the benefits of home working - including less traffic and more work/life balance.

"National Work from Home Day is not an excuse for an extra day off, it is a serious attempt for people and organisations to try out home working," says Nigel.

"For many, there is absolutely no reason to waste hours commuting into central locations every day of the week. In fact recent figures show that when properly implemented employers saw productivity improve by as much as 20 per cent.”

What do you think? Is it a good idea?

What's your worst beauty disaster?

Sandra Bullock burned herself dying her pubic hair.

She explained: "I decided for Valentine's Day I would do a special hair thing. I wanted to try to create a pink heart shape with my lower hair. It
was painful. You had to bleach it first. There's something about bleach that feels like acid. Then I had to shave it. I was in so much pain, but I kept going and put the pink dye on and it went the wrong colour."

Ouch! What's your worst beauty disaster? Mine would probably be the short hair I have at the moment!
