Earlier this year Smith's Chip ran a competition to name a new flavour. Here are the finalists.

* Caesar Salad - from Sydney's Northern Beaches 'yummy mummy'
Aline Pascuzzo

* BBQ Coat of Arms - from part time DJ and audio engineer Vinnie
Kaye, from Melbourne

* Buttered Popcorn - from Perth family man Steve Richardson

* Late Night Kebab - from soccer addict and banker Lucas Barsby,
from Adelaide

What do you think? Which is your favourite?

Ummm...:S I like the idea of the hamburger and hot dog flavour from the ad better than all of the above. However, Caesar Salad could be interesting....Buttered popcorn could be good...but, why would I buy a bag of Buttered popcorn chips when I could make/buy them cheaper?

Yeah I agree Tommygirl. I vote for Sausage Sizzle flavour or Mum's Lamb Roast!

I can see why they were chosen. They individually appeal to a cross-section of the market.
Yummy-mummy....The idea that it contains a healthy salad ingredient.
BBQ coat of arms....so Aussie,Aussie Aussie.
Buttered Pop-corn....addictive.Kids love it too.
Late night Kebab.Good hang-over or mid-night munchie appeal.
My favourite will always be........Plain Smiths.

The idiots at Smiths can't be serious...first of all,is the Kebab going to have Hommos & Tabouli on it and will it have Barbecue or Garlic Sauce and will they make you vomit afterwards?...Will the Caesar Salad have Anchovies?...I hope not!...Popcorn?..I'm with you Tommygirl on that one...why buy the unhealthy chips when you can have the real healthy choice at a cost of about 50cents?...and Aussie Coat of Arms-now they will really appeal to the vegetarians of the world and migrants who will not assimilate in this country..Can't understand why they didn't decide to go Sausage Roll,Meat Pie,Spring Roll,Vegemite,Peanut Butter or even Lemon Spread...all Aussie Icons...SMITHS ARE IDIOTS,I'll stick with RED ROCK as they know how to make a chip and they know flavours!!!

I was spewing.... I am also from Adelaide and entered "Late Night Lamb Sandwich". Meaning Yiros/kebab/flaffel depending which state you come from..... I've been Robbed.... Might not win, but the $10K and Possible $30K plus sales would have been handy....

So many better ideas, I wouldn't by any of the ones that Smiths have chosen. Late night lamb sandwich would have been yum! My idea of beef and onion would have sold more than any of the ones we are expected to vote for. Smiths loss

And the winner is ... Caesar Salad chip!

Aussie chip lovers have named Caesar Salad as the winning flavour in the Smith’s Do Us A Flavour competition, beating out finalists Late Night Kebab, Buttered Popcorn and BBQ Coat of Arms in a national trial by tastebuds.

Creator Aline Pascuzzo, 35, of Allambie Heights on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, has won $30,000, one per cent of future sales of her chip flavour and a place in the history books. Her blend of crispy lettuce, dressing, croutons and parmesan are set to hit supermarket shelves nationwide in early 2010.

To thank the nation for getting behind her flavour, Aline has pledged a $10,000 donation to Barnardos, to help underprivileged children, young people and their families across Australia.

What do you think? A deserving winner!

I didn't think any of the flavours were that great to be honest. I thought hamburger and hot dog were much better ideas lol.
